Fair point. Excellent observation about that limitation. Despite that, the additional features could be the tradeoff.
automation_fan: Completely agree — I had the exact problem and got it working by updating the driver. Took me a while to locate that parameter.

Just got this working! The key is configuring the MQTT broker properly. Seems obvious now.
